Weekly, we give rides to dogs and cats out of shelters to rescues partners. Without a ride, many of these animals would not make it out of the high intake shelters they find themselves in.
Rescues often see the plea for help from shelters that don't have enough resources or adopters. Rescues want to help, but often don't have their own transport division. We fill this critical gap, and together help end the needless euthanasia of some amazing animals.
We host weekly slumber parties in Dayton, OH for dogs heading to rescues in other states. Longer coordinated transports ( like Toni Kennett's Team run) often need a place for the dogs and cats to sleep over for a night on their way to rescues.
Special thanks to Heather Steinbarger who helps us when we are overflowing!
When driving solo, we usually bring dogs from KY and WV to rescues in OH. Ruff Transport often works with transport coordinators, where we do a large part of a longer trip. The longer trips will involve other transporters who help move the passengers to their rescues in states like PA, NJ, WI and MN
Cathy Turnipseed heads up our special run division. In addition to our bigger van runs, there is a huge need for special runs for a few passengers at a time. Volunteer drivers are always needed to help these animals move to safety.
Please contact run coordinator cathy.turnipssed@gmail.com to get more information on how you can save lives by driving rescue transport.
Toni's T.E.A.M (Til Every Animal Matters) is a group of volunteer drivers that we work with every week. Toni coordinates many runs for animals needing out of high kill shelters, or found by local rescuers. Please contact Toni Kennett TC4PETS@gmail.com if you want to find out about volunteering for her runs.
